David J. Farabaugh

Mr. Farabaugh is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree (2000). He joined Alesker & Dundon in 1993. Since then Mr. Farabaugh has worked on diverse project types including, commercial, residential, institutional, and hospitality/entertainment. He works in the design development and construction documentation phases of the projects with the firm.

Mr. Farabaugh has an extensive background in CAD management, computer design, and manages major projects for the firm.

Before joining Alesker and Dundon Architects, Mr.Farabaugh worked with a local firm in Philadelphia. As an intern he was involved in several notable projects such as, First Union Center in Philadephia PA, Camden Yards in Baltimore MD, Gateway Arena in Ohio, and a renovation to Drexel University.

Among the many projects that Mr. Farabaugh has worked on are:

  • The Residences at World Trade Square, Philadelphia, PA. A 42-story luxury rental apartment building with 396 one, two, and three bedroom apartments, as part of a mixed use office, retail and conference complex.
  • The Twelve Caesars Hilton Hotel, Philadelphia, PA. A new 11-story, 209 room hotel ,connected to and integrated with the existing Twelve Caesars convention center. The new building contains the lobby, front desk services, meeting rooms, pool, and health club. The existing building includes the rehabilitation of the conference center and the construction of new restaurant bar, theater and administrative offices.
  • The Samuel P. Mandell Science Building for Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, PA. A new 60,000 square foot laboratory and classroom building containing offices, laboratories and classrooms for the college, and research and animal experimental facilities for a related research and teaching program managed by Thomas Jefferson University. 
  • The Pine Hill Golf Club Clubhouse in Pine Hill, NJ. A new 43,000 square foot facility with banquet, restaurant, kitchen, pro-shop and locker facilities. Public facilities have dramatic views of the Philadelphia skyline.
  • The Homes at Green and Jackson, Downingtown, PA. A community of 52 townhomes with 3 bedrooms, off street parking, and private and public garden spaces.
  •  The design of World Trade Square at Penns Landing in Philadelphia.  A 3 million square foot mixed-use development of office, apartment, retail and entertainment uses.
  •  Trump Tower Philadelphia.  A 225 apartment luxury condominium with extensive amenities for which Mr. Farabaugh served as project manager.
  • The Homewood Suites Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.  A 136 suite extended stay hotel with extensive public space.  Mr. Farabaugh contributed to the design and served as project manager for this work.
  • A privately developed student housing community for the Berks campus of Penn State University.

Mr. Farabaugh is currently managing the design development of the following projects:

  • Renaissance Plaza – A 4 phase 2.5 million square foot complex on a 5.3 acre site on the Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia.  The complex will contain 1,358 rental apartments in 4 multi-story buildings, 70,000 square feet of retail space, 4,000 square feet of professional office space, garaged parking for 653 cars and extensive public open space.  The project is a candidate for LEED gold certification.
  • World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia – A 4 million square foot complex on a 16 acre site on the Delaware River at the foot of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Camden, NJ.  A key to the revitalization of Camden and integrated into the Camden City and Waterfront plans, this phased business incubator project will contain 3 million square feet of office space in a mix of high and low rise buildings, a conference center, 400 residential apartments, and a neighborhood shopping center.  This is to be a LEED project designed as an office campus with an uninterrupted landscaped plaza that connects all buildings.
